The Program of Educational Grants has been held since 2005.
Young people entered the universities of Uzbekistan on contract basis have an opportunity to pay their tuition fees with the Fund`s grant.
The contest for the grants has been usually held in August-September each year.
Since 2005, 612 gifted students have become winners of the Program, for 314 the most actives the payment of the tuition has been annually prolonged. Total number of student applied for the program is 9700. 1,1 bln soums have been provided in grants.
Danila Volkov – a winner of “Educational Grants Program”, graduate of Tashkent University of Information Technologies:
- Through this project I was able to reach «Kelajak ovozi» YIC, where I became local coordinator of «Information technologies» direction. This place is for me a certain workshop, where I was able to realize my ideas and projects. It was sometimes difficult but always interesting. I do not remember a day that would have been boring! I think it is very important for young people. After all, when everything is in full swing, then you feel «live», as a part of everything happening around. With the constant support of the Fund Forum, I work in its team of web designers. And yet, I am very pleased that through this program, my parents are not concerned with tuition fees!
Sherzod Shermatov – a winner of “Educational Grants Program”, graduate of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy
- First of all, the grant has given me self-confidence, an opportunity to reveal myself. All those who won a grant in 2005 became activists of «Kelajak ovozi» YIC. And here we tried to express ourselves fully. Indeed, the first grant became the last one for many winners, but for the most active ones the grant was prolonged for following year. For us it was a good incentive to work consistently and «to keep the bar». Due to this we were able to realize our ambitious projects. New horizons were opened up for all of us. Within the program we often have to travel to different areas and towns of Uzbekistan. If I didnt win the grant, it is unlikely to have such an opportunity both to participate actively in public life, and to have so many friends in the whole country as I do!
