«Health in family» Action

The «Health in family» social charity action was held in Tashkent in April 2009. The Organizers: Public Association «Jenskoe Sobranie» («Women`s Assembly») and the «SALUS VITA» medical health center.

During the project, leading experts in the field of laboratory and functional diagnosis, family medicine, cardiology and mammology from Russia, Germany and the United States carried out free medical survey for over 200 patients from families in need of social support.

Also, foreign specialists conducted master classes for medical staff of Tashkent clinics and lectures for the students of Tashkent Medical Academy.

On February 8-11, 2010, one of Russia’s foremost surgeons, Oleg Zuban, performed a series of charitable operations which were sponsored by Salus Vita Medical Centre under Family Health Project. Doctors of the Republican Specialized Scientific Medical Centre for Phthisiology and Pulmonology had prepared four patients to undergo complex urogynecological surgeries. All of the patients are Group 2 disabled people and represent a socially vulnerable segment of the population.

On March 12-13, 2010, one of Russia’s foremost surgeons and head of Children Surgery Unit of Moscow State Medical Institute, Igor Poddubny, jointly with a group of local surgeons, performed a series of charitable operations which were sponsored by Salus Vita Medical Centre. The Centre’s doctors had prepared three patients, aged between 6 and 13 years old, to undergo complex surgeries. The patients represent a socially vulnerable segment of the population.

In April-June 2010, Tashkent’s Kuk Saroy Medical Clinic hosted a social campaign to perform medical check-ups for disabled people and families in need of social support. Participants consulted a general practitioner, a neurologist, a breast specialist and a gynaecologist, take a lab check-up and functional diagnostics.

From May 9 to May 21 in 2011, four groups of doctors from Seoul National University Bundan Hospital (South Korea) performed a series of charitable surgeries on patients in need of urgent surgical interference from low-income families. The forty-five professionals did 30 surgeries to remove mouth defects, 10 heart surgeries and 12 orthopedic surgeries and provided dental treatment for over 400 people under Family Health Project overseen by the Fund Forum, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Women’s Council, and “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association.
