
In august 2007 for the first time in Uzbekistan Gulnara Karimova, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Fund Forum was awarded with the Pushkin Golden Medal «for outstanding contribution to the development of culture, constant rendering of assistance and support to creative intellectuals, for strengthening of international cultural and educational relations».
Pushkin Golden Medal is a state award of the Russian Federation granted for merits in culture, enlightenment, humanitarian sciences, important contribution to cultural heritage exploration and preservation, cultural approach and mutual enrichment of nations.
Among laureates of Pushkin Golden Medal there are the greatest artists and politicians as A. Vasnetsov, D. Jilinskiy, V. Ivanov, M. Konchalovckiy, V. Matvienko, Z. Tsereteli, famous international figures- D. Ikeda, President of the Buddha peacemaking organization Soka Gakkai International (Japan), S. Bruno, President of international city of arts (Cite des Art`s) in Paris (France) and etc. The Pushkin Golden Medal awarded for the first time to the representatives of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a valuation of their important achievements and valuable contribution to strengthening of friendly relations, collaboration and mutual understanding among people.
