On October 26, during the award ceremony of International contest of young designers and modelers «Podium-2008» Nikolay Prokopenko, rector of South Russia State University of Economics and Service announced the awarding of Honorary title of professor of the University to the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Fund Forum Gulnara Karimova.
According to his words, the title of a professor was awarded to Dr. Karimova for prominent contribution to the development of international relations of the University in the sphere of education and arts, for the support of creative youth of Russia, for high level organization of the contest Podium-2008 in Tashkent. Podium-2008 – one of the largest projects in fashion industry for young students where 110 young modelers from 28 cities and 34 educational institutions from 6 countries took part.
