Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid hosted a reception to celebrate Independence Day of Uzbekistan which included a concert and artistic exhibitions, organized by the Fund Forum. The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Spain, Gulnara Karimova. The events were attended by over 200 people, including politicians, businessmen, the scientific community and the broad public of Spain.
The visitors showed a keen interest in the cultural part of the event with violin virtuoso Abdukhoshim Ismailov and prominent singer Zulaikho Boykhonova performing Uzbek national songs while Uzbek dancer Zukhra Tashmatova of “Ofarin” group added to the colorful event.
Just as much attention went to the art shows organized by the Fund Forum, which showcased Uzbek national textiles and photo works which acquainted the viewers with historical image of Tashkent and its contemporary architectural design.
The guests were welcomed by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Spain, Gulnara Karimova, who spoke about an active bilateral dialog in all dimensions and expressed readiness to participate in each collaborative project with a view to expanding and further strengthening the links between the two countries, the links that were founded hundreds of years ago by Amir Timur and Spanish diplomat Ruy Gonzales de Clavijo.
