The Fund Forum has released a unique historical collection «Tashkent - the History of One City», which has been created due to Gulnara Karimova’s idea. The Book has been published to the 2200th anniversary of the capital of Uzbekistan. According to Dr. Karimova, the book mainly consists of the collection of postcards illustrating Tashkent, the history and events of Tashkent, its architecture and simple everyday life of people living in the city that always with its inherent nature united the traditional and the modern. In this book Tashkent is depicted in several periods of history since the appearance of photo-art in the region. This scale project is implemented jointly with UNESCO under the resolution of 34th session of General Conference convoked on October 16, 2007. The book has been released in three languages: Russian, English and French.
The concept of the edition has been elaborated by Gulnara jointly with Boris Golender, Shakhnoza Karimbabaeva, Sergey Abaturov and Renat Karimov. The book will be interesting for wide readership, as well as historians, linguists, architects. From the book you can learn a lot of legends and historical facts associated with the city, andget acquainted with the unique images of architectural masterpieces.
