Gulnara Karimova has become one of the sponsors of a charity evening organized by Elton John AIDS Foundation on March 7 in Los Angeles as part of the Oscar Awards Ceremony. Among those attending the event were Salma Hayek, Milla Jovovich, Jason Lewis, Miley Cyrus, Michelle Rodriguez, Nicole Richie, Chopard vice-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, tennis player Serena Williams, singer Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, model Heidi Klum, Eugenia Silva, among others.
This is the 18th charity evening organized by Elton John. In 1992, Sir Elton John established an AIDS Foundation, now known as Elton John Foundation, with the goal of supporting innovative HIV/AIDS prevention, education programs, direct care and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS. He also announced his decision to channel all the proceeds from the sale of his singles in the UK and the USA into the expansion of AIDS research. Presently, the Foundation is one of the world’s largest non-profit organizations addressing HIV/AIDS.
