Supporting Craftsman Dynasties of Uzbekistan

The trade fair Bazar-Art is one of the most eagerly awaited projects of master craftsmen, and inhabitants of the city. Because this is the very project that twice a year shows all the splendor and diversity of the traditional «hand made», created by the masters from various regions of the country. During the three days - from 16 to 18 November - in the Tashkent National Arts Centre everyone could get in touch with the work of the craftsmen, become owners of products to very different tastes - ceramics, chasing, textiles, jewelry and more. November 18 at a specially arranged ceremony, Gulnara Karimova noted and awarded the best exhibitors of the Bazar-Art-Autumn 2010 Trade Fair.

Project organizers - Fund Forum and the «IJOD» Association of artists, art critics and craftsmen of Uzbekistan gathered at the National Art Centre over hundred artists from Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. This year, potters and weavers craft dynasties were especially marked. Exhibition Fair helps to learn the current level of applied art of Uzbekistan, to reveal what kinds of support is needed for recovery and development of direction in the traditional culture that have been getting lost. The project provides grants for masters and their disciples. Grants are aimed at further developing of arts, revival of endangered styles of handicrafts and traditional arts in Uzbekistan.
