Following its official presentation in Tashkent, the album “Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan” embarked on a global tour. On December 13, 14, and 15 the book was presented as part of festivities commemorating the 20th anniversary of Uzbekistan`s independence in Berlin, London and Vienna. Over 400 guests in London and Vienna and nearly 450 in Berlin attended the events.
The visitors to the reception could enjoy traditional folk music and national dances performed by young talented Uzbek musicians and sample national Uzbek cuisine.
The reception agenda included an exhibition offering original photos from the album by local and international photo artists. Many guests were particularly impressed by images of Uzbekistan`s historical cities and landmarks featured in the exhibition sections such as “Tashkent, the fortress city”, “Samarkand, the pearl of the Orient”, “Bukhara the noble, Bukhara the Saintly” and “Khiva, the divine daughter of the Amudarya”.
It was pleasing to hear opinions about the high artistic level demonstrated by professionals in the area of culture and arts as well as publishing. Sharing her impressions, the executive director of Peacock Buchhandel und Verlag publishing house, Kathleen Göbel, noted that the presentation of the album was the highlight of the reception. “The book contains a large number of photos reflecting the beauty and splendor of your country while the photos of architectural landmarks in ancient Uzbek cities will create unforgettable memories with viewers,” she said.
Alla Bulyanskaya, the owner and director general of Alla Bulyanskaya Gallery in London, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to view the album “Fund Forum presents Uzbekistan”, which, she believes, allowed her to look at Uzbekistan from a different vantage point. “Your country has long been known for its talents, who work to make your culture and arts unique. Apparently, the success of the project is largely due to the participation of Gulnara Karimova, head of the Fund Forum, who is known for her endeavors to promote Uzbek culture and arts abroad as well as for supporting talented young people in Uzbekistan. I strongly believe that the exhibition and the book will make lasting impressions on the British and international public.”
Reinhardt Gausterer, Director General of the Austrian Publishing House, noted he was impressed by the Fund Forum`s multifaceted activities and its successful projects. “We`re aware that the Foundation has launched major projects in many spheres, including the support of youth and allocation of micro loans. Today`s exhibition clearly shows us how Uzbekistan takes care of its ancient architectural monuments. I`m sure that there are many more interesting projects in the pipeline,” he said.
