International Forum Searching the Breast Cancer Problems Solution

Famous physicians, representatives of public organizations such as WHO, UNESCO, USAID, and official structures of Germany, USA, Japan, Italy, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan took up the call of Gulnara Karimova, who had organized the International Forum Medical Aspects and the role of public organizations in Breast Cancer Problems Solution. For the first time in Uzbekistan the issue of breast cancer was raised on such an imposing level.

The Community of Women Diagnosed with Breast Cancer recently established under the Public Association Jenskoe Sobranie (Women’s Council) on the initiative of Gulnara Karimova was one of the organizers of the event. This Community became the common ground for the risk groups and patients on one hand and for physicians and physiologists on the other. Among active participants of the Community’s projects are sponsors presenting financial aid in treatment, rehabilitation and early diagnosis of the disease. The issues of early diagnosis are especially vital now because more and more women of fertile age face the risk of breast cancer.

- Initially we planned to make the Community a real supporter of women, for instance in supplying them with necessary, but expansive or hard-to-get medicines. In this regard we anchor our hope on sponsors and pharmaceutical companies, because medicine donation could be organized through them, - noted Gulnara during the Forum. Besides, today, due to initiative and activity of Jenskoe Sobranie, Uzbekistan joins EUROPA DONNA the European Breast Cancer Coalition and established a contacts with the famous Breast Cancer Research Foundation by Evelyn Lauder. For all those who are untied by the desire to solve the breast cancer problem it means new work experience in this field, getting more information, more opportunities and prospects in professional assistance.

As the main objectives in breast cancer solution were determined such points as consolidation of efforts by the representative of the healthcare, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies and NGOs, strengthening international cooperation in this field. Special attention is to be paid to the role of public organizations in solving this social issue.
