Over 500 residents attended the launch of the first Universal Cultural Center in Namangan on June 7 under a project initiated by Gulnara Karimova to construct a network of Universal Cultural Centers in Uzbekistan. The project is overseen by the Fund Forum in conjunction with Mehr nuri (Ray of mercy) Foundation, the Women’s Council and the Social Initiatives Support Fund (SISF).

From May 21 to June 2, Moscow hosted the 8th international festival titled “Moscow Welcomes Friends”, with Uzbekistan`s Tamara Akbarova, a student at Uspensky Music School, among the participants.

The Youth Creativity Palace presents a treasure trove of drawings created by children at an exhibition titled “Fairy Tales of the Nations of the World” and a colorful concert featuring young talents. Timed to coincide with the International Child Protection Day, the exhibition presents over 1,000 artworks: drawings and applied art items created by children aged 5 to 14.

The Fund Forum, the Women`s Council, and Mehr Nuri (Ray of Mercy) charitable foundation are overseeing a series of events honoring the International Child Protection Day, celebrated on June 1. The events include charitable campaigns, concerts, exhibitions and trips to Uzbek historical cities. The festivities will culminate in “In the Name of Childhood” charitable ball in the Japanese Garden in Tashkent and an International Calisthenics Tournament “Baby”. The string of events has kicked off with visits by Women`s Council workers to orphanages on May 24 and 25 to provide orphans with presents. Over 1,000 children in mercy homes have benefitted from the charity visits.

From May 9 to May 21, four groups of doctors from Seoul National University Bundan Hospital (South Korea) performed a series of charitable surgeries on patients in need of urgent surgical interference from low-income families in Tashkent. The forty-five professionals did 30 surgeries to remove mouth defects, 10 heart surgeries and 12 orthopedic surgeries and provided dental treatment for over 400 people under Family Health Project overseen by the Fund Forum, the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Women`s Council, and “In the Name of Life” National Breast Cancer Association.
