As is known, the Art Week Style.Uz features representatives of eminent labels and offers presentations. Last year’s Style.Uz included a presentation of jewelry pieces with diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires during Chopard Evening. This time jewelry enthusiasts had the opportunity to eye the splendor of creations by Faberge, another famous jewelry label.

The palette of the first day of the Art Week includes two solo exhibitions of works by France`s Catherine Metais and Italy`s Marco Perego. The latter used to be a soccer star but is now an up-and-coming artist known for his controversial and thought-provoking paintings. Talking to Gulnara Karimova, who opened the exhibition, he launched into an emotional and lengthy story of his creative work.

...The Art Week Style.Uz 2010, a modern and multifaceted project, highlights traditions and aspirations to be in step with time. The performances featuring karnais and surnais, Uzbek national music instruments which have always welcomed guests and visitors were followed by greetings by several leading culture and arts professionals, involved in the project, and a welcome speech by the organizer and author of the project Gulnara Karimova.

Intercontinental Hotel in Madrid hosted a reception to celebrate Independence Day of Uzbekistan which included a concert and artistic exhibitions, organized by the Fund Forum. The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Spain, Gulnara Karimova. The events were attended by over 200 people, including politicians, businessmen, the scientific community and the broad public of Spain.

On September 10l, 2010, Gulnara Karimova presented her new GULI collection during Mercedez Benz Fashion Week in New York City. The collection consisted of 37 models featuring national Uzbek fabrics and patterns in a modern and traditional interpretation. While the New York Fashion Week, one of the most popular and high-profile in the world, is still running, some western fashion critics have described the collection as successful and the best in its kind. This is fashion inspired by ethnic themes.
