The Women`s Council NGO, Chaired by Gulnara Karimova, and the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) have signed an Annual Work Plan, funded by UNFPA as part of the Country Cooperation Program between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNFPA for the years 2010-2015. As a result, in order to support the initiatives of the Women`s Council and "In The Name Of Life!" National Breast Cancer Association, the trainings for Uzbek specialists working with women at different stages of cancer were conducted.

On October 18, Tashkent hosted the launch of the Discussion Club set up at the initiative of Gulnara Karimova, the director of the Center for Political Studies, in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Foundation, “Tethys Petroleum Ltd.” (Canada) and “ITE Uzbekistan”.

On October 15, the international round-table “States and Perspectives of Security Provision in Afghanistan” brought together experts from the UK, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Singapore, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Japan as well as representatives of international organizations and other agencies specializing in Afghanistan and regional security. The event was organized by the Center for Political Studies, headed by Gulnara Karimova, with assistance from Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The final day of the Art Week proved as colorful and dynamic as the previous days, offering multifarious events: a master class by a Russian painter, a contemporary choreography and sporting dance international contest, the General Défilé by Dom Stilya, a concert by opera legend Jose Carreras, and Chopard jewelry presentation.

The fifth day of the Art Week “Style.Uz 2010” presented a string of events, including a master class on the use of software in carpet weaving, a few runway shows, and Guli jewelry presentation.
