On February 3, the Center of National Art played host to a meeting of the Women`s Council members. Among those attending the event was Gulnara Karimova, the Chairwoman of the Women`s Council Organizing Council, who joined the members to discuss plans for 2011.

Gulnara Karimova, the Chairperson of the Fund Forum`s Board of Trustees, presented money grants to twenty budding businessmen during the Young Entrepreneurs Forum organized by the Fund Forum and “Kelajak ovozi” (Voice of the future) Youth Initiative Center with assistance from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, the National Association of Microfinance Organizations and Credit Unions (NAMOCU), the British Council in Uzbekistan and the Council of Credit Union Federation. Also, 28 women received microcredits for the development of business in their respective regions.

Gulnara Karimova inaugurated a newly built kindergarten “Future Generation” in Tashkent during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 27. The brand new facility offers all it takes to ensure all-round development for children along with an emphasis on an individual approach to each child. Designed to prepare little attendees for school life, the kindergarten will help develop creative skills and offer four meals a day along with interesting activities.

“House of Style” Creative Association, which was founded by Gulnara in 2003 marked its birthday by organizing a festive event for friends and guests. Those gathered enjoyed a colorful Christmas fair featuring New Year theme items crafted by applied art masters as well as a GULI runway show.

The Fund Forum held an online conference with the public to report on the results of the outgoing year, the projects implemented, study opinions of culture and arts professionals as well as the broad public. The Youth Creativity Palace, the venue for the conference, brought together around 300 people: culture and art figures, scholars, leading educators, representatives of public and international organizations, winners and participants of Fund Forum projects as well as partners, who formed the conference panel and participated in round-table discussions.
