The Fund Forum participated in the organization of Egyptian Culture Week whose opening ceremony took place on March 24 at the Centre of National Arts in Tashkent. The culture week was organized by the Embassy of Egypt in Uzbekistan, the Egyptian Culture Centre and the Ministry of Culture and Sports Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Among the attendees are leading representatives of Egyptian culture and art, folk performers, artists and diplomats of the two countries. The Week included a performance by Nile folk ensemble, art exhibitions “Egypt Throughout Centuries” and “Uzbekistan-Egypt in the Eyes of Artists”, a photo exhibition, a demonstration of Egyptian films. The cultural events took places in Tashkent higher educational schools, Gafur Gulam Park, Youth Creativity Palace, State Conservatory of Uzbekistan and the Egyptian Culture Centre. The Egyptian Culture Week has been held regularly in Tashkent since 2007 with support from the Fund Forum and represents an important step toward stronger cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
