On September 10-11 the Fund Forum’s delegation headed by the Chairperson of the Boards of Trustees of the Foundation, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Gulnara Karimova attended the World Economic Forum (WEF New Champions Annual Meeting 2009) in Dalian city of China.
The Fund Forum hosted a presentation of culture and arts of Uzbekistan including a photo exhibition ‘Tashkent - the History of One City’ devoted to the 2200th anniversary of the Uzbek capital, and a concert program featuring top musicians and performers from Uzbekistan. The exhibition, previously presented in Geneva and in Vienna, includes about 100 photographs of old Tashkent, as well as works by contemporary authors. These are unique pictures of the early twentieth century, reflecting changes in the city until present day.
The event was attended by guests of the Economic Forum and the general public of China, including political figures, diplomats, businessmen, art historians and cultural figures, heads of major international organizations and journalists.
