The creation of a new arts organization - Association for Artists, Art Critics and Craftsmen of Uzbekistan – was announced by Gulnara Karimova on April 7, in a solemn atmosphere. This event brought together the art public of the country at the Youth Creativity Palace.
To date, the organization unites more than 200 artists of various kinds of art. Most senior member of the Association is 76 years old, and the youngest one is 20.
The organization aims at forming a culture of modern society, support projects and initiatives of creative personalities, implement the various art projects in Uzbekistan and abroad. The task also includes the implementation of educational and internship programs, the establishment of inter-regional creative relationships, providing an opportunity to study and further development of both, beginners and well-known artists in a professional and personal sense.
The Creative and Exhibition Committees for different types of art and expert councils of art historians and art critics function under the Association.
Thus, the Uzbek artists, folk craftsmen and other members of the Association will have an access to a wide range of opportunities for implementation of creative, professional and research activities, and promote development and prosperity of the arts, revival and enrichment of the national artistic traditions.
