On May 19, 2011, Gulnara Karimova attended the annual Cinema Against AIDS benefit gala organized by the American Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR) as part of the 64th Cannes International Film Festival in France.
The star-studded event was attended by the likes of Uma Thurman, Jude Law, Kirsten Dunst, Freida Pinto, Jane Fonda, Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Karolina Kurkova, Prince Albert and Donatella Versace who, along with Gulnara Karimova, have made contributions toward tackling one of the pressing issues of the contemporary world – AIDS.
The organizers of the gala thanked Karimova for supporting actively the endeavors of amfAR and said her contribution has helped to raise a record sum of donations for AIDS research this year.
