Children in focus throughout June

This year, June 1, the International Child Protection Day, launched a string of exciting events targeted at children. The Fund Forum, Mehr nuri Public Foundation, in conjunction with partners, have organized many events spread across June, which has been dubbed “31 Days of Childhood”. The events range from contests and charitable projects to trips to historical cities in Uzbekistan and circus performances. The campaign will conclude on July 1 with a traditional charitable ball in Tashkent`s Japanese Garden, thanks to which last year over 3,000 kids from orphanages across the country were given clothes, shoe wear, school belongings for a new academic year and many other surprises.

On June 1, Trade and Entertainment Center “Continent” hosted a charitable campaign of the Women`s Council dedicated to the International Child Protection Day. The campaign which covered over 2,000 children, including orphans, was aimed at raising funds for the development of children`s centers in the capital and other regions of Uzbekistan as well as for the development of the Fund Foum`s Yangi avlod (New generation) project. The campaign included performances by Uzbek pop singers. Also organized were theatrical performances and food. Assistance with organizing the campaign was provided by Mahalla Fund, which ensured participation by children from large families and those in need of social support.

The same day Mehr nuri Foundation held a charitable campaign “History of Motherland” by organizing a trip to Samarkand for 40 children from orphanages. The trip included interesting excursions and sightseeing tours. Also, on June 1 the Youth Creativity Palace welcomed visitors to a children`s at exhibition “My City” and a concert.
