CIS Youth Symphonic Orchestra to perform in Tashkent

Tashkent`s Turkiston Palace on October 5 will host a concert by the CIS Youth Symphonic Orchestra under the baton of prominent Russian conductor Vladimir Spivakov. The concert will conclude the orchestra`s tour of Belarus, China and Uzbekistan. Organized by the Fund Forum headed by Gulnara Karimova, the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS and the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic, the orchestra will perform classical works.

Presently, the CIS Youth Symphonic Orchestra comprises 95 musicians, nine of whom represent Uzbekistan. Among them is Nodir Hoshimov, a laureate of national and international competitions.

The project was launched in 2007, the year the orchestra was formed. On September 13, 2008 the Moscow Conservatory hosted the first concert of the Youth Symphonic Orchestra. The 2009 project, held on September 8 – October 11, featured 108 musicians from 12 countries. In 2010, the CIS Youth Symphonic Orchestra expands its geography, performing in New York and Paris at events timed to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II. The orchestra`s 2011 tour concludes in Tashkent.

The young musicians` activities are not limited to rehearsals and concerts only. Another crucial factor is that they get an opportunity to communicate with prominent conductors of contemporary Russia and work with other musician groups that form part of orchestras (stringed, wind and percussion instruments).

Moreover, the group of musicians will enjoy a cultural program that will include visits to museums, theatres, concerts and exhibitions and learn of traditions of CIS countries.

Tickets to the concert are available at Turkiston Palace box office.
